Michael loved life and lived it to the fullest. He did more in his short 27 years than most do in a full lifetime. He will be missed terribly by all those whose lives he touched.

Memories of Michael

I am just so incredibly sorry to hear about Mike. Even though I wasn't in his class, I did get to hang around him enough to know what an exceptional person he was. Not just to me though – it seemed like he treated everybody with respect and kindness. My senior year we were husband and wife in the school play. That play was AWFUL! We all forgot our lines, but I remember laughing so much through the whole thing because Mike kept cracking me up!

Some people in school were only nice to certain people. As far as I could tell, Mike wasn't like that. I don't remember him being mean or disrespectful to anybody. I'm guessing that he was one of those rare people that made everybody ever encountered feel good. I can't begin to understand why bad things happen to people like that, the people that are making a difference everyday of their lives. I don't get it – I am so sorry.

Ever since I heard him sing O Holy Night, I made him promise that he'd sing at my wedding if I ever got married. He had such a beautiful voice. I know I will think of him whenever I hear that song.

What a tremendous loss to everybody who knew him and everyone he would have met. I just can't say I'm sorry enough.
